Magic Kingdom Map 2025

In 2025, Magic Kingdom announced its largest expansion with the introduction of Piston Peak National Park, a Cars-themed land. To accommodate the project, Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Liberty Square Riverboat permanently closed on July 7. Additionally, a new nighttime parade, Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away, debuted on July 20, adding to the park’s entertainment lineup.

In 2024, Magic Kingdom saw several major changes. The original Country Bear Jamboree closed on January 27 and later reopened as the reimagined Country Bear Musical Jamboree on July 17. The Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade permanently closed the same day in January to make way for a new Disney Vacation Club lounge. Additionally, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, a log flume ride in Frontierland, officially opened on June 28, marking a significant new addition to the park.

Magic Kingdom Map 2023

In 2023, Magic Kingdom permanently closed Splash Mountain on January 23 to begin its re-theming into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. On April 2, the nighttime spectacular Disney Enchantment had its final performance, with Happily Ever After returning the next day featuring new projections. Additionally, on April 4, the TRON Lightcycle / Run roller coaster officially opened in Tomorrowland, marking a major new attraction for the park.

In 2022, Magic Kingdom introduced the new castle stage show Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire on February 25. The Disney Festival of Fantasy parade returned on March 9 after a multi-year hiatus. Later in the year, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique inside Cinderella Castle reopened on August 25, and the Walt Disney World Railroad resumed operation on December 23 after being closed for four years due to refurbishment and construction.

In 2021, Magic Kingdom completed a major reimagining of Jungle Cruise with new scenes and storyline updates. The Hall of Presidents reopened on August 17 featuring an audio-animatronic of President Biden, while Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor also returned in Tomorrowland. On September 29, the Happily Ever After fireworks show ended its run, and the next day, October 1, Disney Enchantment debuted as a new nighttime spectacular to launch the park’s 50th Anniversary celebration.

In 2020, Magic Kingdom closed to the public on March 15 as part of a resort-wide shutdown, reopening on July 11 with new health and safety protocols. Disney also confirmed the permanent closure of Stitch’s Great Escape! in Tomorrowland on July 16. Later in the year, on October 26, both the Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island closed for extended refurbishments scheduled to last into early 2021.

In 2019, Magic Kingdom introduced the Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party parade on January 18 as part of Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration. Later in the year, on August 16, a new nighttime fireworks show, Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular, debuted during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, replacing the park’s previous Halloween fireworks offering.

In 2018, Magic Kingdom saw several significant changes. Stitch’s Great Escape! ceased operations on January 7 and was listed as “seasonally closed” indefinitely. On March 19, Pirates of the Caribbean reopened from refurbishment featuring a new auction scene. Later in the year, on December 3, the Walt Disney World Railroad closed for a multi-year period to accommodate TRON construction, marking the suspension of a longstanding park attraction.

In 2015, Magic Kingdom reopened several key dining venues, including Cinderella’s Royal Table on March 9 after extensive refurbishment and Liberty Tree Tavern on November 19 following a four-month closure. On April 27, the first phase of the redesigned central plaza hub area opened to guests. Later in the year, on December 16, the new Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen restaurant debuted in Adventureland, bringing a Jungle Cruise-themed dining experience to the park.

In 2014, Magic Kingdom retired the Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade on January 4 and permanently closed the Tomorrowland Arcade on February 2. In 2012, Magic Kingdom advanced its New Fantasyland expansion with several major updates. On May 31, Snow White’s Scary Adventures permanently closed. Earlier in the year, Storybook Circus debuted with the rethemed Barnstormer featuring the Great Goofini, the relocated Dumbo the Flying Elephant with interactive queues, and the new Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station. On December 6, the first major phase of New Fantasyland officially opened, introducing Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid and the Be Our Guest Restaurant.

In 2011, Magic Kingdom debuted the nighttime projection show The Magic, The Memories and You! on Cinderella Castle. On February 11, the entire Mickey’s Toontown Fair land permanently closed to make way for the New Fantasyland expansion. Later in the year, on August 15, Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room reopened in Adventureland, restored to a version closer to its original presentation after years of operating under an alternate storyline.

In 2010, Magic Kingdom permanently closed Pooh’s Playful Spot on June 4 to clear space for the upcoming Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Fantasyland. The next day, June 5, the long-running SpectroMagic nighttime parade gave its final performance before being retired. On June 6, the classic Main Street Electrical Parade returned to the park for a limited engagement, bringing back one of Disney’s most iconic nighttime entertainment offerings.

In 2009, Magic Kingdom introduced the Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Street Party parade on February 12, adding a new entertainment offering to Main Street. In 2007, Magic Kingdom added a new attraction and refreshed a classic. On April 2, the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor comedy show officially opened in Tomorrowland. On August 19, the Disney Dreams Come True Parade debuted as the park’s new afternoon parade, and on October 1, the Dream Along with Mickey stage show premiered at Cinderella Castle. Later in the year, on November 26, the Timekeeper attraction in Tomorrowland permanently closed after years of seasonal operation.

In 2005, Magic Kingdom introduced several new offerings. On September 4, Pooh’s Playful Spot opened in Fantasyland as a children’s play area. Later that month, on September 30, the HalloWishes fireworks spectacular debuted as part of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. On November 27, the park added another seasonal entertainment feature with the debut of Holiday Wishes: Celebrate the Spirit of the Season fireworks during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

In 2004, Magic Kingdom retired one attraction and introduced its replacement in Tomorrowland. On October 12, the ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter permanently closed to make way for a re-themed experience. Just a month later, on November 16, Stitch’s Great Escape! officially opened in the same theater space, bringing a new attraction based on the popular Lilo & Stitch franchise to guests.

In 2003, Magic Kingdom introduced several major entertainment changes. On October 8, the 3D film attraction Mickey’s PhilharMagic officially opened in Fantasyland. That same evening, the long-running Fantasy in the Sky fireworks show was permanently retired after 32 years. The following day, October 9, a new nighttime spectacular, Wishes: A Magical Gathering of Disney Dreams, debuted, becoming the park’s primary fireworks presentation and replacing its predecessor.

In 2002, Magic Kingdom permanently closed the Legend of the Lion King stage show in Fantasyland on January 23. The closure was announced as part of plans to replace the production with a new 3D film attraction, Mickey’s PhilharMagic, which was scheduled to open the following year. This marked the end of the Lion King-themed show’s run at the park and set the stage for the next major addition to Fantasyland’s entertainment lineup.

On April 1, the Main Street Electrical Parade concluded its run, and on April 15, the original Country Bear Jamboree show returned, replacing the Country Bear Vacation Hoedown. On May 24, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin opened as a new spinner attraction in Adventureland. Later, on October 1, the Share a Dream Come True Parade and Cinderella’s Surprise Celebration castle stage show debuted as part of the 100 Years of Magic celebration.

In 1999, Magic Kingdom saw major entertainment and attraction changes. On May 20, the SpectroMagic parade ended its eight-year run, and on May 28, the Main Street Electrical Parade returned for a limited engagement as part of the Millennium Celebration. On June 5, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh dark ride officially opened in Fantasyland. Later in the year, on November 10, the Skyway gondola attraction permanently closed, ending service between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.

In 1998, Magic Kingdom underwent significant attraction changes. On January 28, the Take Flight attraction permanently closed in Tomorrowland. On April 1, the Tiki Room reopened with a new show and name, The Enchanted Tiki Room: Under New Management. Later in the year, on September 7, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride in Fantasyland closed permanently. Finally, on November 3, the interactive dark ride Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin officially opened in Tomorrowland.

In 1997, Magic Kingdom saw two notable changes. On April 28, the King Stefan’s Banquet Hall restaurant inside Cinderella Castle was officially renamed Cinderella’s Royal Table. Later in the year, on September 1, the original Tropical Serenade attraction, the park’s version of the Tiki Room, closed permanently to prepare for a reimagined show that would later reopen under the title The Enchanted Tiki Room: Under New Management.

In 1996, Magic Kingdom marked its 25th anniversary with multiple changes. On September 30, the Mickey Mania Parade ended, and on October 1, the Remember the Magic parade debuted. That same day, Mickey’s Starland was officially re-themed as Mickey’s Toontown Fair, featuring the opening of The Barnstormer at Goofy’s Wiseacre Farm, a junior roller coaster. Also on October 1, the Grand Prix Raceway in Tomorrowland was renamed and reconfigured as the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway.

In 1995, Magic Kingdom introduced significant changes in Tomorrowland. On June 5, the Delta Dreamflight attraction was officially renamed Take Flight following the end of its corporate sponsorship. Shortly after, on June 20, the ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter attraction officially opened as part of the New Tomorrowland project, bringing a new headliner experience to the land and marking a major step in the park’s ongoing reimagining of Tomorrowland during the mid-1990s.

Shortly after, on October 1, the 20th Anniversary Surprise Celebration Parade debuted as the new daytime parade, while the nighttime SpectroMagic parade officially premiered, replacing its predecessor as part of the anniversary festivities.

In 1990, Magic Kingdom closed an entire land for future redevelopment. On April 22, Mickey’s Birthdayland officially closed, marking the end of the temporary land that had been created for Mickey Mouse’s 60th birthday celebration. In 1989, Magic Kingdom saw the closure of a long-running Tomorrowland attraction and the debut of its replacement. On January 3, the Omnimover ride If You Had Wings permanently closed following the loss of its corporate sponsorship. Later that year, on June 23, the new Delta Dreamflight attraction officially opened in the same location, bringing a refreshed flight-themed experience to guests and continuing the use of the Tomorrowland show building.

Later that summer, in August, the Plaza Swan Boats attraction was permanently closed and removed from the park’s waterways.

In 1980, Magic Kingdom experienced both the closure of an opening-day attraction and the debut of a new E-ticket ride. On September 14, the Mickey Mouse Revue in Fantasyland gave its final performance and was permanently closed. Shortly after, on November 15, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad officially opened in Frontierland, adding a major roller coaster to the park’s lineup and becoming one of its signature thrill attractions.
