Space Farms Zoo Map and Brochure (2019 – 2021)

Location: Sussex, New Jersey

Years Active: 1927 – Active

Space Farms Zoo isn’t your average animal park. It’s been around since 1927, way back when farmer Ralph Space decided his place needed more than cows. Now it sprawls across Sussex, New Jersey, filled with way more wildlife than you’d expect from a farm.

This place blends animals with history. You’ll find lions and tigers, sure, but also classic cars and old-timey Americana. They go big on events too – think fall festivals and a wicked Halloween bash for the kids.

The animals aren’t just in cages. Space Farms focuses on the whole ecosystem, so some critters roam a bit more freely. Keep an eye out – you never know what you’ll spot!

In 2021, Space Farms Zoo publicly debuted a newborn cougar cub at several events. On October 8, the USDA cited the zoo for transporting a 5-day-old cub in a cardboard box for a two-hour journey to a public event, where it remained for about an hour. The cub was also exhibited at a car dealership, taken outside during public talks at 8 and 9 days old, and featured in a radio promotion inside the facility’s nursery.
