In 2025, Audubon Zoo introduced several notable changes. On March 13, the Jaguar Jungle River’s Edge exhibit officially opened, providing a new immersive experience. In August, the same area welcomed three baby capybara pups. The zoo also faced operational shifts, including a full-day closure on January 23 due to a winter storm and the continued closure of Cool Zoo’s splash park in late June under a boil water advisory. Starting September 2, the zoo began closing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays through March 2026.
