In 2025, the Alaska Zoo experienced a temporary closure on January 13 due to a power outage. Beginning July 28, shuttle services were reduced to weekends only through August 31. Seasonal programs concluded on August 29, including the Animal Feeding Experiences, which were unavailable on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the Snow Cats and Bears of Alaska Tours, and the Wildlife Walk Small Tours that had operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 10 a.m.
