In 2025, the Fort Worth Zoo advanced multiple conservation efforts and welcomed new arrivals. In May, twelve lesser flamingo chicks left the nursery to join the adult enclosure. That same month, the zoo partnered to release more than 690,000 endangered Houston toads in Bastrop County for Endangered Species Day. In June, two gharial crocodile hatchlings were born, marking the third consecutive year of successful breeding, while January saw continued work on the Puerto Rican crested toad program.
