In 2025, Tulsa Zoo advanced several major projects. Construction began on the William S. Smith African Wilds complex, including the 7-acre Zarrow Zebra Habitat that will return zebras to Tulsa after 15 years, and demolition of the 1960s big cat enclosure to make way for a new climate-controlled lion habitat. The zoo also welcomed Asian elephants Billy and Tina to the renovated 17-acre elephant preserve and opened the Zoorassic World: Frozen in Time dinosaur exhibit in March.
