In October, two male Sumatran tigers, Gusti and Nakal, joined the collection, followed by the unveiling of a new education center and animal hospital. Additional highlights included the birth of six horned pit vipers in July and a female gerenuk named Marcella in October. The zoo closed briefly on December 24 for the holiday.
