Bedrock City was a Flintstones-themed roadside attraction consisting of an amusement park and RV park at the corner of Arizona State Route 64 and U.S. Route 180 in Coconino County, in the U.S. state of Arizona. The park was opened in 1972, following the ownersโ success with a predecessor park near Mount Rushmore in South Dakota. The park had licensed the likenesses of the Flintstones characters, and featured statues, rides, and a diner based on that theme.
What happened to Bedrock City?
Bedrock City, a Flintstones-themed amusement park located in Custer, South Dakota, has undergone a transformation in recent years. Originally built in 1966, it was a popular tourist attraction featuring life-sized replicas of the fictional town of Bedrock and its iconic Stone Age residents. However, in 2019, the park was sold and rebranded as “Raptor Ranch,” shifting its focus to dinosaur-themed attractions and activities. The Flintstones-themed elements were gradually removed, marking the end of Bedrock City’s legacy as a Flintstones-themed attraction.
