Alligator Farm Zoological Park Map and Brochure (2024 – 2013)
Location: St. Augustine, Florida
Years Active: 1893 – Active
The Alligator Farm Zoological Park keeps it real. Think less “enchanting animal sanctuary,” more “Florida swamp with attitude.”
Obviously, gators are the stars of the show. They’re big, they’re occasionally smelly, and they have zero interest in giving you a hug. But hey, that’s why you’re here, right? It’s not just gators though. They’ve got lizards that could give Godzilla a run for his money, birds with seriously weird haircuts… and the whole place has a certain…shall we say, “lived-in” feel.
The Alligator Farm isn’t afraid to show its age. It’s a little faded, a little rough around the edges – kinda adds to the charm, in a weird way.
What is the biggest crocodile in the Alligator Farm?
The largest crocodile inhabiting the Alligator Farm is an imposing Saltwater Crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) known as “Maximo.” Maximo is an impressive specimen, measuring over 15 feet in length and weighing more than 1,250 pounds. As one of the star attractions at the Alligator Farm, Maximo’s immense size and powerful presence continue to captivate visitors from around the world.
